| This lesson was inspired by Onion Dome Churches of Russia. Students learned about the symbolism with this architecture. Some historians say that it is shaped like a glowing candle, reaching for the sky. Bright colors were used to make the building stand out and create a sense of warmth in the cold climate of Russia. Students of Mercer Elementary were inspired by this form and used the onion dome design to create their own imaginary castle. | ||||||||||||||||
