POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CONTRAST SYMMETRY DESIGNS

Students learned to integrate elements and principles of art into this contrast, symmetry design lesson.  They selected shapes that is easily recognized and explore the possibilities of line, shape, form, space (positive and negative), pattern, movement and emphasis to name of few. A special prepared vinyl paper was used along with x-acto knives to cut and peel away the white, exposing the black and vice-versa.
