Textured Bugs
Amy Crosby Art Teacher
2nd Grade - Bloomfield School

After studying different types of lines, shapes, and textures around them, 2nd and 3rd graders put their imaginations to the test.  They invented their own “texture bugs” -- bugs containing as many designs and types of lines on them as possible.  They then tried a similar technique for the background: using crayons, they first covered their paper with different types of lines, and then found out what happened when they used watercolor over the crayons.  The crayon resisted the watercolor and made even more interesting patterns and textures.
