In social studies, students will be researching what recreational activities
Skowhegan currently has to offer residence and visitors. Students will
be investigating and video cataloging the various attractions. Then, students
will begin the task of examining the Run of River project, the Main Street Skowhegan
project, and the various other community initiatives. Next, the students
will create a DVD utilizing iMovie. The focus of the movie is to show area
residence and travelers what Skowhegan currently has to offer, and what it we
hope to offer in the near future. Many copies of the movie will be made
to give away at local events. Also, the movie may appear on the Town of
Skowhegan Webpage, the local television station, and even as a pod cast. It
is hoped by all involved that this DVD becomes an economic tool that will help
make Skowhegan a destination.
