Mrs. Crowell
Mrs. Crowell
I feel extremely fortunate and blessed to be part of the Enrichment Resources family here in the MSAD # 54 district. This year at Canaan Elementary School and Margaret Chase Smith School, I hope to enrich each students education by introducing them to new ways to examine problems, solutions, and topics. Each ER class begins with brain gym and lateral thinking questions, and the general ER students also introduced to a new vocabulary word through a multiple choice question. The students attack each problem and vocabulary question as a group, collaborating and communicating the entire time. After which, they move onto our topics.
General ER classes each have different grade specific topics in science and social studies, and will also be involved in literature groups, which includes materials and instruction across the curriculum of core subjects.
Math ER students will begin the year off with problem solving and logic, and then they will begin discovering the importance of math in our communities and our world. This year the 5th graders at MCSS will be taught math exclusively in the ER program. I will be broadening and expanding their knowledge, while supplementing with deeper, enriching, and creative-thinking projects and lessons. The pace will be faster and more in-depth than the regular classroom, and will require a commitment and partnership between the students, parents, and Mrs. Crowell.
I look forward to working with your child and fostering his or her lateral and divergent thinking, as well as encouraging him or her to think deeper, and more critically and creatively.
