NACK update-December 7, 2006

• Pajama night on December 6 was a huge success.  Lots of pajamas, book buying, reading, and listening were seen during the evening.  Free books were given out to lucky winners and holiday presents were tucked away.  The proceeds of the book fair will be spent on enrichment activities for the students of NCGS.
   
  Our next NACK sponsored event will be on December 20 when we send the entire school to see a movie in Skowhegan. The staff and students will enjoy Charlotte's Web before the holiday break.

• We approved Ms. Tobey's request for two pieces of office equipment.


• We approved$800 for the children to see Charlotte's Web at the movie theater.


• We approved $1,000 to go towards guest speakers or a whole school project, and $500 towards books for each student (for literacy week). We purchased books last year also for each student.


• We are still looking for a president or vice-president.

• In September we paid $600.00 to go toward presentations by the Chewonki Foundation for kindergarten through grade six students. Depending on their age groups they saw a "Birds of Prey" or Fur, Feathers, and Feet" presentation .
  

• A Scholastic book fair is planned for late November into early December with a story time/pajama night in the works.
  
  
• Anticipated 2007 winter /spring events: movie night, book fair, spring fling, and any ideas that you present to the NACK group
