Restricting Domain -
This is what you do when you fail the horizontal line test. |

The red part is the section that is restricted. This area is removed
because the graph has not passed the horizontal line test; therefore,
an inverse function cannot be derived. However, by restricting the
domain (“x >0") an inverse can be. The original
equation for the graph is y=
and the inverse is y=√x. This is displayed in the graph to the
left. |
