       SAHS ASP highlights, spring 2016

Thanks go out to all our staff & students that make this program successful. Our regular group of students that attend the program enjoy a wide variety of programming options, many of which are selected by the students. Last year we served 100 at risk students 30 days or more between the middle school and high school sites.

Come and join the fun. We meet in the cafeteria or gym right after school. Spring highlights include challenge ropes course, woods projects, digital graphics arts, art club & much more. Our Skowhegan Outing Club will be participating in the Spring Thing event at Adventure Bound in Carratunk next month. The family bowling event is coming up Tuesday April 26th at T&B's. And our end of the year family picnic & awards celebration at Lake Geaorge will be May 26th.

The Monday - Thursday ASP begins with a physical activity, followed by circle time/Thought of the Day. A guided study is always offered to help students get their homework done and get tutoring when needed. Many project-based activities are sequenced throughout the school year, spanning goal areas of health and wellness, STEM activities, cultural, the arts, career planning, and many more.

Please check out our ASP bulletin board for program applications, updates, pictures and latest news.See Mr Goodwin or Mrs Boudreau if you're interested for an application.

mission

MISSION STATEMENT- The After School Program begins its 8th year here at in MSAD54 in September 2015. Our goal is to enrich the lives of a regularly attending group of students doing fun healthy activities blended with academic themes. We seek to improve the students’ connection to the school and community by learning new skills, enhancing self-esteem, and building stronger relationships with friends, family and teachers.

The After School Program provides the students with a safe and structured environment for two hours Monday through Thursday after school. The small group setting allows our staff quality interaction and engagement with the students.
