Art Classes
School Year 2001-02

Images from Mr. Lofving's Printmaking Class at SAHS

We start by sketching an image that means something to the artist. People may pick a sport they are interested in, a place they love or an image that symbolizes their feelings. We transfer this onto a linoleum block and start carving. Each color is printed and then carved out of the block until the image is complete. An edition of 5 is produced. The name of the technique is reduction block printing. The whole process takes about a month.
