This is my wife's car. It is a Toyota Echo with an automatic transmission. It gets up to 38 miles per gallon. It's not a hybrid, but it goes about twice as far as most cars on a gallon of gas. We put 4 of us, our dog, 3 snowboards, an electric guitar, two pairs of snowshoes and all our clothes in it for a ski vacation. No problem! It has front wheel drive, and does fine in the snow.
