Mrs. Knauff comes to us from Waterville after teaching Latin and Spanish for the first 5 years, then only Spanish for the next10 years. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Spanish and Education from Syracuse University. She has a Masters Degree in Teaching Spanish with a minor in Latin, from the University of Maine, Orono. During that time she also studied French. Mrs. Knauff loves computers and applying their capabilities to helping her students understand Spanish. She pursued that interest in studying for a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Technology at the University of Maine, Orono, which she received in 2000. She has lived with local families and studied in Argentina and Spain, and has travelled to Mexico and Spain with her students.
Mrs. Knauff has two daughters, one who lives in Maine with her family and another who is a Spanish teacher in Virginia.
“ Three years ago Craig and I found some land on the Kennebec River in Skowhegan,” and she been enjoying “life at camp” each day ever since. “I love to garden, watch and photograph birds and other wildlife. We can go kayaking and boating, snowshoeing and skiing all without leaving home.”
