School lesson times

All students are encouraged to take lessons during study hall, after school and/or lunch. Lesson times are adjusted on an individual basis

due to scheduling difficulties at our school.

Jazz Band

We made states!

Bar Harbor

Congratulations to our High school Jazz Band for achieving a 1 rating at the Distric 4 Jazz Festival on February 15, 2012! Now we are on to States to compete for first place statewide.

Here is the State Jazz Festival information:

Date: March 16-17. We perform on Saturday, March 16.

Time: Our performance time is 11:30 a.m.

Location: Mount Desert Island High School, 1081 N Eagle Lake Rd., Bar Harbor, ME 04609. Tel. 207-288-5011

Performance venue: The Gymnasium

Travel plans: We depart SAHS no later than 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16. We check into our Hotel in Ellsworth enroute to MDI High School. We will watch combos from other schools perform.

7:00 p.m. Dinner in Ellsworth and then 10:00 p.m. curfew at our Hotel.

9:00 a.m. on Saturday we depart for MDI. We warm up at 11:00 a.m. and perform at 11:30. Wish us luck! We will leave MDI by 4:00-5:00 p.m. if we do not advance.That would put us back at SAHS

by 7:00-8:00 p.m. If we do advance then we will have an awards ceremony and night time concert at 7:00 p.m. In that case we will be back at SAHS betwee 11:00-12:00 midnight.

 
All State

Congratulations to Kaylin Knott, Sam Wheeler, Devon Cifuni, Betsy Li, Silas Price, Melissa Kelly on your acceptance into All State this year. Six students accepted into All-State is a wonderful

Affirmation of the work we all do here in our music department.

 
Marching Band Update!    
Pep Band

Friday, February 17 we perform at the Augusta Civic Center for the womens basketball tournament. We depart the HS at 1:45 p.m. The game is at 3:00 p.m. Please pick up your band member

at 6:00 p.m. Friday night at the HS.
