Friday game at 4 PM (UB players please report to gym at 2:20 PM)

Friday, January 19th is: Fans In The Stands night for Unified Basketball at SAHS. Come support the SAHS Unfied Basketball team at the first home game of the season. Admission is FREE and concessions will be available. Game starts at 4 PM. Please spread the word and support the Unified Basketball team.

SENIOR NEWS:

Seniors: Triple D’s Redemption Center in Norridgewock has been gracious enough to open up an on-going bottle drive for us. Please spread the word that people who would like to donate bottles to our class should take their bottles there (same driveway as Oosoola Park) and tell them they are for the Class of 2018.

Sophomores interested in attending the Maine Youth Leadership conference in June may pick up an application in the Guidance Office.  See Mr. Hylan or Mrs. Bigelow for more information about this great opportunity.  Applications are due February 9.

 

FRESHMAN NEWS:

There is a freshman group page on Facebook called “Skowhegan Class of 2021” for freshmen to communicate with officers and classmates regarding fundraisers and other events. For more information, please see Ms . Strout.

 

Media Center News:

OTHER

2018 Maine School Wellness Program offers our school district discounted Sugarloaf tickets as well as discounted rentals & lessons. For more details, there are flyers in the main office.

 

Auditions for the one-act play will be Monday, January 22, 3:30-4:30, and Tuesday, January 23, 2:30-4:00. Plan to attend both days and to stay for the whole time. This will be a cold read. Any questions, see Ms. Smith.

 

The public is invited to attend a Speech Team Open House on Thursday, January 25. The event will begin in the auditorium at 6:30. Please come support SAHS Speech Team students as they prepare for state finals. Admission is free.

 

“ Anyone interested in joining the newly formed Unified Basketball Pep Club please sign up in the office. The Pep Club will be cheering on and supporting the amazing Unified Basketball Team at the home games which will be starting in a few weeks. Show your school spirit and support for the SAHS team of 2018 . If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Boudreau in the ISS room or main office

Starting January 8, Student Leadership will be hosting a coin drive to benefit the clothes closet.  Grab your coins, go to the SCTC office and join the battle!!

 

Student Council will be collecting warm clothes in the office, drop off your new or gently used jackets, hats, mittens, scarves, or other warm clothing. Anything is appreciated.

 

New Spanish Club created by Brianne Austin and Taylor Sneed meets Tuesdays at 2:30 in O-10. It's a club to learn about Spanish culture. You do not need to know Spanish to join!

 

The Gay, Straight, Transgender Alliance meets the first two Wednesdays of every month at 2:30 in O10. Everyone is welcome!

Math Team Announcement:

Math Team will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:15am in G2 and after school until 3:00pm in G3. Come in if you can to get support on your practice problems if you have the time. It is never to late to join, see Mr. Hale or Mr. Small in the Green section if you have any questions!
