Cells are very complex structures that have to do millions of things each and every day. In order to make sure that these many jobs get done correctly there are certain organelles that are in control of the other organelles and activities of the cell.

The nucleus and the cell's membranes are the organelles that almost all cells use for control. They are also the largest organelles in any normal cell. For this reason the nucleus and the membranes can truly be said to be large and in charge.
