Energy

Got to have that get up and go!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!! Cells are never resting. They are always making materials, moving materials, and packaging materials. All of this activity requires energy. Lots and lots of energy!

In order to have the energy available to perform all of its normal functions; a cell must have organelles to make this energy. There are two kinds of organelles that deal with energy for cells. They are mitochondria and chloroplasts. Mitochondria are found in all cells whether they are plant cells or animal cells. Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells.
