Our Goal: To follow, enforce, and educate students about the Maine Civil Rights Act in our school and to make all students and faculty feel comfortable in our school.

Open Mike Night

Open Mike Night provides an opportunity for students to come and share their entertainment talents.  All SAHS students are welcome to come and see our students shine. Whether it be singing, dancing, speech, magic, and poetry the afternoon is a wonderful opportunity to come and meet new people.  Next Open Mike Night is February 12th at 2:30 in the Skowhegan Area High School auditorium.

Civil Rights Teacher Recognition Award

As a team, we like to honor teachers in our school who provide a safe learning environment for our students.  At our weekly meetings students nominate teachers who they feel are worthy of this recognition and the team votes on who should win for that month.  The teachers are honored at a month assembly in front of the whole school.  Our team reads a prepared speech by our students and then we present the teacher with the award

Winners of the Awards 2006-2007

October – Barb Toner
