You will see "skills" listed on the schedule four times a week. This class has progressed into many things over the years, from book studies to test preparation. Currently after the involvement of the NWEA tests the school has decided to use skills class to focus on reading growth.

Based on the reading scores, we have each student in a class that is focusing on stretching them into their next level of reading. They could be working on basic skills, reading novels, practicing comprehension, and/or applying reading to each of the their different subject areas. We will still work on test prep for all the students, but the main focuus is to help them become better readers.
