3. Using note cards or the word processor, students will organize their notes to be used in an oral report at the time of their playing test.
Evaluation:
Students will be able to play Scale excerpts on their chosen instruments. After their performance, they will give information on their instrument. Students will be graded on a rubric of 1-4, 4 being the best. They will be graded on the following: 1. performance (up to student's proficiency), 2. Instrument research-who, what , where, when, and why. Each of the W's will be graded separately.
Reflection Statement:
Music is a performing art form. In this lesson, students will not only need to demonstrate their skills on an instrument of their choice but, they will need to be able to verbalize information as well. Using their research will give them a better understanding of their chosen art form and help them to talk knowledgeably about it.
