"Hand crafted in small batches" |
Family owned since 1968, Kennebec Cheesery in Sidney, Maine has cow
and goat milk, fresh cheeses, aged cheese, and yogurt. The farm sits
on 92 acres, with 30 acres of field and a farmhouse built by Hammond
family in 1790. Kennebec Cheesery is a non-organic dairy farm. They
own thirteen alpine goats and seventeen sheep. Organic cow’s milk
from a neighboring farm is used to make yogurt and cheese. Making
good products
takes time. Yogurt takes about one day, soft cheeses take four to
five days, and aged cheeses take one day to make, and then two
to six months
to age. Kennebec Cheesery’s goats are fed GMO - free (genetically modified
organism free) grain. The animals graze in the fields or eat local
hay. Kennebec Cheesery is a name you can trust.
