The Canaan kids brought the suitcase to Portland, Maine when the Decatur was ready to leave for San Diego. Check out the Decatur's web site if you want to get an idea what the Navy is all about. We gave the suitcase to Chief David Barker who brought it to his daughter Guilia's classroom at the Avocado School in La Mesa, California. When it was there Mr. Ross spoke to some folks at the San Diego Aerospace Museum. They asked him if they could have a piece of the crate for a display. Mr. Ross sent a piece of the crate to Mrs. Thomas' class and they went to the museum and met with Mr. Bleakley from the museum staff. The cranes went too. The museum has some great displays….check it out.
