Congratulations, you have chosen to conduct research on the past days of logging and river driving along the Kennebec River. Your mission will include lots of reading and careful note-taking. You will need this in writing your paper and creating a mulit- media presentation for the class. In Skowhegan, there are still people who can provide primary source information. You will also read from a number of non fiction sources.

Phase 1 Read these books : Salt II River Driving In Maine ( packet) The Upper Kennebec Valley Vol 2 by Jon Hall ,Tall Men Tough Trees by R. Pike

Watch video: "From Stump to Ship" (notes)
Interview someone who was on the river drive or who was a past logger. Make a video while there.
Phase 2 Write your final paper and/or script on logging and river driving. Complete final draft of your interview.
Your group should be ready to create your multi-media presentation. You may choose from iMovie, Keynote, iweb ,slideshow or any other program that you choose and I give you the go ahead. Good Luck to you all!
