Alexis Broadley & Sophie Wheeler
SAMS Student Council is a leadership group led by Mrs. Tanner.
It is an organization of energetic and responsible students who have a
lot of enthusiasm and school spirit. Members do well academically, exhibit
good behavior, are hard workers and are positive role models in our school.
We are "DOERS" and work diligently to make a difference in our
school, our community and our world.
Events and activities we are involved in throughout the year:
*Breast Cancer Awareness-selling of bracelets, pins for the cause
*March of Dimes quarter collection
*Mustache month to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research
*Thanksgiving food drive to make up 150 food baskets for the needy in our area
*King Arthur Bread Making Presentation and bread making for the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter
*Holiday shopping for needy children in our school
*Creating of tray favors for a local nursing home
School and Community Activities:
*Weekly recycling of paper at our school
*Sponsor monthly hat and school spirit days
*Honor all staff in May for Teacher Appreciation Week
*Hand out American flags in the Memorial Day Parade
*Participate in the Holiday Stroll by making crafts with children during Santa’s breakfast
*Creating of Christmas cards and Valentines for our veterans at Togus
*Sponsor schoolwide dances
