John Paul Jones

Johnny's chores were to help in the fields. Johnny also helped Tom Mackenzie on his yawl. Tom sold his yawl, so Johnny worked on another ship, the Friendship. Johnny got seasick and homesick. Johnny also worked for the navy. John was born in Kirkcud Bright, Scotland on July 1747.
John Paul Jones was famous for fighting ships and winning in the Revolutionary War. His accomplishments were being in the navy and winning battles in the Revolutionary War. Some important dates and events are: 1747 Jones was born, 1759 Jones first went to sea on the Friendship, 1775 Jones received a commission as a lieutenant in the Navy.

In 1776 John took command of the Providence. One John's famous quotes was, "I have not yet begun to fight." John's goal was to be a sea officer. His highest goal was to be in the navy and conquer ships. He died in Paris, France in 1792 at the age of forty-five.
