Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is just a reminder for this Thursday, January 14th there will be a parent powerschool information night to explain how you can connect to your child’s information online. This meeting will be held in the auditorium at Skowhegan Area High School from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. For grades K-3, you will be able to access attendance and lunch balances over the internet from your home or any location. For children in grades 4-6, you will be able to access attendance, lunch balances and grade information, including completed assignments, over the internet from your home or any location.  A previous letter of information was sent out from our Superintendent, Mr. Brent H. Colbry earlier in the month.

Other information and dates to remember:

              January 18, 2010 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – No School

              January 22, 2010 – Second quarter ends

              January 27, 2010 – Early Release Day – Students will be dismissed at noon.

February 10, 2010 – A Parent Group Meeting at the Margaret Chase Smith School from 5:30 to 6:30.

Also, on January 29th we will be visited by several folks from the Department of Education to review our goals of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. If you would like further information please visit the No Child Left Behind Report Card link (under featured links) on the RSU 54 district homepage to see how your student’s school performed on the Federal Adequate Yearly Progress evaluation.  This information will also be available in the school office.
