A community champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.
MSAD 54’s District Wide Community Champion is Kathy Dorko!
Kathy is the English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher and Coordinator, where she works closely with students, families, and teachers to support children whose first language is not English. As part of her role, Kathy collaborates with several community organizations to support families with resources, and organizes events like the Multi-Cultural Family Night, celebrating all of the places our students and their families come from. She consistently goes above and beyond to make students and families feel safe, supported, and a part of this community. Kathy’s compassion and dedication ensure that every student feels valued and equipped to thrive—making our school and community stronger and more inclusive.
Congratulations, Kathy, we are so lucky to have you as a part of our community!
