MORE Pics of: Ms. Jameson and her 5th grade students releasing salmon into the river.
The excitement and eagerness of the students on this special day in May can be seen in all of the pictures and videos. Hands-on learning that involved math, writing, reading, and science is not only engaging, but also memorable for students.
Way to make the raising and releasing of salmon happen, Ms. Jameson and the 5th graders!

Ms. Jameson, Mr. Herrick and 5th Grade students raised salmon this spring in classroom-created habitats and, in mid-May, released them into the river. The learning connected to this project included studying the life cycle of salmon, the environments salmon need to survive, why salmon are critical to the riverโs ecosystem, and planning for release day.

MCSCS goes bowling for Physical Education Classes! Thank you to Mr. LeBlanc and Ms. Grenier for making this annual experience happen for all K-5th grade students during the month of May.

Safety City came from CMP to present to the MCSCS 4th Graders on, " No line is safe to touch, ever!" The students were captivated with the information about electricity, outages, storm linemen, and other jobs at CMP. Most of all the students have knowledge of what to do if they ever see a line down. Thank you CMP for presenting and informing our 4th graders.

It was a great learning experience for all the 4th graders. We removed him from the unsafe place he was located, identified the species of turtle, then did some research on how to best help. We learned that to help the turtle we should: take it away from danger, and bring it closer to water; placing it nearby water and vegetation, not directly in deep water. The kids all wanted to keep it, but I think it was a great lesson for them!
Please make sure to watch where you walk when playing in the field behind the school as there might be a turtle also playing!

The Pre-K students got to venture up to Mrs. Allen's 5th grade class to see the progress of their seeds that are not seedlings! They paired up and observed the seedlings while talking about what type of seeds they planted and how they change as they grow. We then took a trip outside to soak up the sun. โฅ๏ธโ๏ธ The students also worked on teaching the Pre-K students Growth Mindset which is a frame of mind used to understand that hard work and persistence are the pathways to accomplishing something new or challenging.
