Math Interventions

Math specialists provide direct instruction for small groups of students. Intervention groups are flexible, changing to meet the needs of the students. The specialists support students with additional instruction on classroom topics as well as building on current understandings and misconceptions to strengthen conceptual knowledge and fill gaps in learning.

Math specialists meet regularly with math coaches to ensure that lessons are relevant and focus on developing conceptual understanding. They also confer with teachers to assess the effectiveness of instruction and the transfer of their work into the classroom. Math specialists are a key component to the Title 1 math program.

Parents are always welcome to visit or contact their child’s instructor with questions and concerns.
